I wake bright and early in the morning to an empty bed. Fuck. I can’t believe I fell asleep. I can’t believe she snuck out. Wait. Yes, I can. She’s worried that Aria and Noah will find out I was right all along. Either way, I don’t care if she wants to keep this quiet. It’s nobody else’s business anyway. I’m not going to tell them or do anything that would make her want to stop. We only have a couple of days left until the wedding. And I hope to be spending every night of it buried deep inside her. I thought once would be enough, but it’s not. I want more.

I get up and take a shower before going downstairs. The place is a mess, but it’s quiet. Nobody else is up yet. I lock the house behind me and drive to town, where I grab a couple of coffees and breakfasts. Then I find my way to her house. I didn’t have her address, but it’s a small town, and I find her car easily after driving up and down all the side streets. I know it’s her house because I memorized her license plate number all those months ago when I saw her drive away from the restaurant.

Her house is exactly what I imagined her to have. It’s small but cute. The gardening is perfect, and birdhouses and feeders are hanging from the tree in the front yard. Grabbing the food, I climb out of the car and make my way toward her door. I knock a few times before the door gets pulled open. She’s standing on the other side of the screen door. Her hair is messy, and her makeup from last night is smudged.

“I brought breakfast,” I tell her, raising the bag.

She groans and turns away from the door, not bothering to open it for me.

I let myself into her house and close the door behind me, following in the same direction she went. I walk into her living room and take it in. The walls are an off-white color with white trim. The floors are a gray hardwood, and her furniture is all perfectly clean and white. She may love children, but it looks like she loves her home and her things too.

She’s partially lying down on the couch, so I sit in the recliner and set the coffee and bag of food on the coffee table. “You look sleepy,” I say as I start digging out the food.

“You had way more to drink than I did. How is it you’re up already and looking perfect?”

I chuckle. “Lots of practice. Here, drink some coffee,” I say, setting her cup in front of her.

She sits up and takes the cup, tipping it back and having a sip.

“I’m sorry I passed out on you last night.” I smirk. “You must have worn me out,” I joke.

She glances at me but doesn’t have any expression on her face.

“What? Not regretting it already, I hope.”

She lets out a long breath before shaking her head.
